I was recently forced to use a server that the owner "could not" enable the older mysql commands, but instead had the mysqli enabled. It took me just a few minutes to get the hang of it. Don't fear folks, let's all get on board with the object oriented direction of PHP and embrace it! This is PHP *CLASSES* after all... :)
